Okay, there’s nothing ground-breaking about wanting to make a drastic change to your hair at the start of summer. We’ve all been there. The change in season feels fresh, and full of possibilities – and you want your hair vibe to do the same.
If you’ve been flirting for the idea of a new ’do for a while, but can’t quite pull the trigger, we might have found the reason to book that appointment. In a quest to find a haircut that’s universally flattering, we turned to hairdresser Amanda Green, from A Flick of Hares in Kingston, for her expert advice. We asked her, not only what style she is asked for most often, but also the one that works on almost everyone.
Turns out, it’s the same style…
“Currently, the most sort-after style is what I call the textured middy,” Amanda tells us. “This style can be tailored to suit almost any hair type by altering the length and/or the amount of layering and internal texture. The look sits square around the collarbone with a textured edge, a disconnected layer around the face (how short will depend on the face shape), and long, textured layers throughout. Combining the convenience of ponytail length, and the freshness of the bob, the textured middy will suit almost everyone.”
We are totally sold on the textured middy here at onthecover, it’s the answer to going shorter while still maintaining a doable length. Need more convincing? We trawled through way too many Pintrest boards to find 12 reasons a textured middy is the style to take you into 2020.
