One magazine cover, five incredible make-up looks and 35 possible combinations. The latest issue of Elle Australia is a keeper.

When Australian model Gemma Ward returned to modeling in 2014 after a six-year break, the fashion world breathed a collective sigh of relief. She’s back, baby, and we couldn’t be happier to see her on the cover of a fashion magazine again.

We can only hope this landmark cover marks the start of her resurgence in the world of fashion – and what a way to do it. Her incredibly unique, angelic face is the star of Elle’s July issue, with a groundbreaking, perforated, three-combination cover – a first in Australian publishing.

Inside, the 28-year-old, Perth-born model stars in a dreamy shoot, and gives an interview in which she talks about her return to the fashion world, and reveals she was once told by fashion types that her looks were fading at 20. Turns out, not so much.

She also opens up about her life with partner photographer David Leets and their two-year-old daughter Naia.

Loads of behind-the-scenes tutorials from the shoot are up on elle.com.au. Recreate her super-sleek pony, or the soft tousled bun, or (our fave) the modern milk-maid braid. We know what we’ll be doing this weekend…
